Hi Friends,
It’s Allyson from The Maid’s Quarters!
I know I say this every year, but I really do think September is one of the best-kept secrets around here.
Summer is winding down, the air is starting to feel a little different, and fall is just beginning to peek around the corner.
And honestly?
It’s the perfect time to come back to Pottsville.
If it’s been a while since your last stay with us, I’d love to welcome you back to The Maid’s Quarters this month.
There’s plenty happening around town—and September is a wonderful time to explore it all.
🍂 September Is for Exploring
One of my favorite things about this time of year is getting out and discovering some of the wonderful places right here in our own backyard.
Start with Hope Hill Lavender Farm, right here in Pottsville. Their farm and store have special September dates, making it a beautiful stop for browsing lavender products, locally made gifts and other goodies.
And if you love a little nostalgia, you absolutely have to visit Jerry’s Classic Cars & Collectibles Museum.
It’s right here on South Centre Street and makes for a fun afternoon of exploring. You can easily combine it with lunch, shopping, or a visit to Yuengling.
I love that you can have a completely different experience depending on what you’re in the mood for.
🏛️ A Little History, A Little Fun
Pottsville has so much history—and sometimes we forget just how much there is to see right here at home.
The Historic Yuengling Mansion has special events happening throughout the month, including a September market and its annual masquerade event.
And, of course, there’s always the Yuengling Brewery.
If you haven’t taken the brewery tour yet, September is a great time to do it. And if you’ve already been, maybe it’s time to come back and experience Pottsville again!
☕ Coffee, Books & a Little Me Time
Sometimes a getaway doesn’t have to be complicated.
Sleep in.
Have breakfast.
Grab a coffee.
Browse a few books.
Get a massage.
Enjoy a nice dinner.
That sounds pretty good to me!
Stop by Pressed Coffee & Books downtown for coffee and a little browsing. Then make some time for yourself at Glow Massage and Esthetics, right here in downtown Pottsville.
And when it’s time for dinner, you have plenty of wonderful local choices, including The Crimson House and other Pottsville favorites.
You could spend the entire day right here in town without ever needing to get back in the car.
🍽️ Taste the Season
September is a wonderful month for food lovers.
With local produce still in season and fall flavors beginning to make their appearance, it’s a great time to explore the restaurants and food experiences around Schuylkill County.
Make The Maid’s Quarters your home base, get out and enjoy a wonderful meal, and then come back and relax.
🚗 Explore Beyond Pottsville
One of the best things about staying with us is that Pottsville makes such a great home base.
Take a little trip to Hamburg for shopping, dining and a movie at the historic Hamburg Strand Theater.
Or spend a day in Jim Thorpe, wandering the historic streets, shopping, enjoying the scenery and grabbing a bite to eat.
There’s so much to see within an easy drive of Pottsville.
❤️ Maybe It’s Time to Come Back
I’d love to see you again this September.
