The Story of The Maid’s Quarters Bed, Breakfast and Tearoom
Hello! I’m Allyson, owner of The Maid’s Quarters Bed, Breakfast & Tearoom.
I’m a Pennsylvania native, originally from Allentown, PA, and I grew up in the kitchen alongside my mom and Grammy. It was there that I developed my love of cooking, baking, and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for others.
Since I was 18 years old, I dreamed of owning my own bed and breakfast. That dream began to take shape in 2007, when I completed my college internship at a B&B in Bethlehem. After that, I went on to work at two different bed and breakfasts, gaining valuable experience and learning the many ins and outs of the industry.
Then, in early 2011, I was given the incredible opportunity to move to Pottsville, PA, and open The Maid’s Quarters.
What started as a dream when I was just 18 has grown into something I am incredibly proud of. In April 2026, I began 16 years at The Maid’s Quarters!
It has been an amazing journey filled with wonderful guests, countless cups of tea, delicious breakfasts, special events, new friendships, and so many memories. ❤️
I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported The Maid’s Quarters over the years and helped make my dream a reality.

Meet Krista, my right-hand gal!
Krista has been part of our team since 2025, and she has become such an important part of what we do here at the B&B! ❤️
Allyson has trained her to do just about everything—so if you don’t see Allyson during your stay, don’t worry! Krista is here to make sure you receive the same warm, personal service you’ve come to expect.
And of course, she’ll be whipping up a scrumptious breakfast to start your morning off right!
We’re so lucky to have Krista as part of our team. Be sure to say hello when you see her!
Over the years, we have grown from a 2-room B&B into a 4-room bed and breakfast with our very own on-site tearoom. We have been incredibly fortunate to welcome guests from 47 of the 50 states and 22 different countries!
Our tearoom can accommodate up to 25 guests and is the perfect setting for private gatherings, including birthday celebrations, baby and bridal showers, group luncheons, and other special occasions. We also host afternoon tea once a month, along with a variety of themed “high teas” throughout the year.
And one thing that makes The Maid’s Quarters especially unique is that ALL of our food is made right here on-site by me! From our savory offerings to our sweet treats, everything is prepared with lots of love and a whole lot of homemade goodness.
We are especially known for our scones, and I’m proud to say that our scones are also available at various locations throughout Schuylkill County!
What began as a dream when I was 18 has become a place where people from near and far can come together, celebrate, relax, enjoy a delicious meal, and make memories.
I am so incredibly grateful for every guest, customer, friend, family member, and team member who has helped The Maid’s Quarters become what it is today.
